What is Nolvadex?

Nolvadex is no longer available in the United States.

Nolvadex is a drug used to treat breast cancer that has spread to other body parts and to treat breast cancer in those who have undergone surgery or radiation therapy for breast cancer. It may also be used to reduce breast cancer risk in people who are at high risk for developing that disease. This drug blocks the growth of breast cancer. It is an antiestrogen, and it works by interfering with the effects of estrogen. The generic name for this drug is tamoxifen.
