Metrodin is a brand-name form of the hormone known as FSH (follicle-stimulating hormone). It comes as an injection and is used to treat infertility in women. It is used when the body's natural supply of FSH is insufficient for stimulating follicles (eggs) to maturity. This drug may also be used to help women produce multiple eggs for the process of in vitro fertilization. The generic name for this drug is urofollitropin.
