What is Kinlytic?

Kinlytic is no longer available in the United States.

Kinlytic is a thrombolytic drug; it causes blood clots to dissipate. It is used primarily for the treatment of severe blood clots in the lungs. Its active ingredient is urokinase, a protein normally created in the kidneys. It is administered by injection and available by prescription only.
