Hyoscyamine is a prescription medication known as an anticholinergic agent, which can reduce secretions from numerous organs or glands in the body. This medication treats a variety of disorders, including muscle spasms; muscle tremors or rigidity, especially in the bladder and digestive tract; numerous stomach and intestinal disorders, including irritable bowel syndrome and peptic ulcer; excess stomach acid; some symptoms of Parkinson's disease; and excess salivation, sweating or runny nose.
