What is Isopto Hyoscine?

Isopto Hyoscine is no longer available in the United States.

Isopto Hyoscine (containing the active ingredient scopolamine) is a eyedrop used to dilate the pupils. Your doctor may prescribe Isopto Hyoscine if you have inflammation of the iris before or after eye surgery. The eye doctor also uses it to dilate the pupils for an eye exam. Isopto Hyoscine is classified as an anticholinergic; it opens the pupil by relaxing the muscles around it.
