Eulexin (a brand-name medication with the active ingredient flutamide) is an antiandrogen, meaning that it blocks the effects of androgen (male hormones) and that in turn helps stop the growth and spread of prostate cancer cells. Eulexin is used in conjunction with a luteinizing hormone-releasing hormone (LHRH) agonist and radiation therapy to help stop cancer cells from multiplying. It is only available by prescription.
