This medication comes in the form of a cream, gel, lotion, or spray that is used to treat pain and itching resulting from insect bites, bee stings, minor cuts, burns, sunburn, poison ivy, poison oak, or poison sumac. It is available over the counter. It is an antihistamine medication that works by stopping substances in the body that cause irritation and inflammation.
