What is Decadron?

Decadron is no longer available in the United States.

Decadron, the prescription drug Dexamethasone, is used to relieve the symptoms of inflammation. Decadron can be applied to a variety of illnesses and disorders:

  • rheumatoid arthritis
  • severe asthma
  • primary or secondary adrenal cortex insufficiency
  • severe allergies
  • blood disorders
  • some cancers
  • skin diseases
  • collagen diseases
  • digestive tract disorders
  • high calcium serum levels
  • fluid retention
  • eye disorders
  • lung diseases

In many cases, Decadron is given with other drugs, such as when treating certain cancers or lung diseases. Decadron is a corticosteroid
