Cefobid is a prescription broad-spectrum antibiotic. It is effective against several kinds of bacteria. It works by blocking cell wall production in the bacterial cell. It is commonly used to treat respiratory tract infections, peritonitis and intra-abdominal infections, skin infections, septicemia, and pelvic inflammatory disease. It can be administered through an Intravenous drip or an injection. It is a white powder that is soluble in water. Cefobid is a brand-name drug with the active ingredient sterile cefoperazone.
