Benzyl benzoate is a mix of benzyl alcohol and benzoic acid and can be used for a variety of purposes, medical and non-medical. It can be used in a cream containing sulfur in petrolatum to treat scabies infections (a contagious skin disease caused by mites). Also, benzyl benzoate can be used as a special cleaner to wash carpets and upholstery to reduce allergens in your home or car.
