What drugs interact with amoxicillin extended-release tablets?

Amoxicillin extended-release tablets may interact with these medications:

  • Probenecid prevents your kidneys from eliminating amoxicillin. So, the amoxicillin levels in your blood can be higher than they should be.
  • Other antibiotics interfere with the ability of amoxicillin to kill bacteria.
  • Birth control pills may be less effective while taking amoxicillin.
