If I have diabetes, is it ok to take ampicillin?

If you have diabetes and are taking ampicillin, be sure and use Clinistix or Tes-Tape to regularly check your urine for sugar levels. Clinitest tablets may show a false positive when you are taking ampicillin.  Be sure your doctor or health care provider is aware of your diabetic issues so that possible side effects can be carefully monitored.
