Are amoxicillin extended release tablets safe for my child?

Clinical studies show that amoxicillin extended-release tablets (brand name Moxatag) are safe and effective for children 12 years and older. The tablets work as well in this age group as they do in adults. No studies have been done on children younger than 12 years old. So, we do not know whether they are safe or effective for this group. Talk to your doctor if your child is under age 12.
