How can I deal with my toddler's stubbornness?

Your toddler has reached a stage where he knows how to make choices but is typically allowed to make very few. This can be frustrating for him and, as you have learned, can result in stubborn behavior. One way to reduce stubborn behavior in toddlers is to give them opportunities to make choices on their own. This helps them feel more independent. Letting your toddler make simple decisions, like choosing what to wear or which toys to play with helps your child feel more self-reliant.
