Most parasitic skin infections can be cured with topical and oral prescription medications. In some cases, the parasite must be manually removed. The time it takes for each case to clear up varies, and many times the irritating and itchy rash remains after the parasites, their eggs, and feces are gone. In all cases of both worm and insect parasites, the first step in curing the condition is getting rid of the parasites.

Parasitic infections begin when a person comes into contact with a disease-causing parasite like tapeworms, roundworms. You can contract these types of infections through contact with contaminated food, soil or water, often in tropical regions. Symptoms of parasitic infections can include digestive problems, irritability, chronic fatigue, acne, rashes, sleep problems, anemia, muscle cramps, allergies and headaches. While there is no vaccine, treatment for parasites can include medications or topical applications.
