How are Demodex folliculorum diagnosed?

Because of their size, Demodex folliculorum can only be found by looking through a microscope. Since they live in the skin follicle, they are only seen when removing an eyelash from a pore containing the Demodex folliculorum. However, unless they cause irritation, most people may not even know they have them.
