Can stage 0 pancreatic cancer be prevented?

Stage 0 pancreatic cancer does not have a specific known cause, and therefore cannot be effectively prevented. However, you can reduce the risk factors that are in your control. Since smoking is a risk factor, quitting may reduce your risk of pancreatic cancer. Obesity is another risk factor as is diabetes, so keeping your weight within a healthy range may reduce your risk. In addition, exercising regularly, and eating nutritious food, specifically fruits, vegetables, and whole grains, may reduce your risk of pancreatic cancer.
