There is often a cure for the underlying conditions that cause secondary dysmenorrhea. Many treatments are available to relieve pain and other symptoms. Conditions like uterine fibroids and cervical stenosis will require surgery to correct. Surgery can also help relieve endometriosis. Once the underlying cause of secondary dysmenorrhea is corrected or controlled, your secondary dysmenorrhea will often be resolved.
