Children may complain of joint pain (arthralgia) as they grow. It may be caused by sports injuries or bacterial infection. Sometimes muscles aches known as growing pains are mistaken for joint pain. Symptoms related to diabetes, juvenile arthritis, and other diseases like vasculitis or Crohn's disease in children can cause joint pain and inflammation, too.
