What causes ankle pain?

Like other articulating joints, the ankle can be affected by compromised ligamentus structures that then then cause a buildup of scar tissue during the healing process. Scar tissue from previous injuries, degenerative disease of the articular cartilage, tendinitis, arthritis, and dysfunction of the kinetic chain due to any of the aforementioned problems can cause pain. Assessment and diagnosis is important to manage and rehabilitate joint pain.
