Injuries that cause impact to the arms, hands, feet, and legs are the most common injuries to be followed by complex regional pain syndrome. However, people that suffer other injuries or traumas, like nerve injuries, heart attacks, or strokes, can also acquire the disorder. In some cases the exact cause is not apparent.
