How does acupuncture help psychogenic pain?

Acupuncture can be effective at reducing psychogenic pain symptoms. Acupuncture causes the release of endorphins. Endorphins reduce a person's feeling of pain. In acupuncture, thin, sterile needles are inserted into your body. The needles may be manipulated or mildly electrocuted. Acupuncture does not hurt and should be done by a certified acupuncturist.
