Are there alternative treatments for complex regional pain syndrome?

Doctors offer a number of therapies to treat complex regional pain syndrome. Some of these therapies involving placing a pain reliever on the affected area -- for instance, a topical analgesic cream or applying heat or cold. Other therapies involve electronic impulses sent through the body to remedy problems with nerve damage. In addition, doctors provide physical therapy that allows individuals with complex regional pain syndrome to manage their symptoms by moving in a way that decreases the amount of pain they feel.
