Double voiding is a behavioral treatment that may help overactive bladder. It involves going to the bathroom two times. Double voiding lets you know that your bladder is completely empty. This process can especially help the elderly treat overactive bladder. Here is how it is done:

- When you first urinate, you may feel that your bladder still has urine.
- You should then stand up
- You then sit back down and lean slightly over your knees
- Then you urinate again
- Avoid straining when double voiding
