How are bladder images used to diagnose overactive bladder?

In addition to ultrasound, your doctor may use video urodynamics to create pictures of your bladder as it is being filled and emptied. It is filled through a catheter, and you empty it by urinating. A special dye is inserted into your bladder that can be detected by the X-ray. The procedure helps identify blockages, abnormalities or other problems that prevent normal flow and function.
