What is OvaSure?

OvaSure is one of the multimarker panels that were made commercially available for ovarian cancer screening. It is made of cancer antigen 125 (CA125), prolactin, leptin, insulin-like growth factor (IGF)-II, macrophage inhibitory factor and osteopontin. Sensitivity has been reported to be 95.3% and specificity 99.4% (50). This panel was available commercially until it was found that an inaccurate ovarian cancer prevalence rate was used to calculate the positive predictive value (PPV) of the test.
