How do medications treat ovarian cancer?

The medications used to treat ovarian cancer include carboplatin and paclitaxel. Ovarian cancer cells grow and divide more quickly than cells in normal tissue. Carboplatin and paclitaxel target rapidly growing cells. Unlike surgery which removes clumps of cancer cells in specific locations, chemotherapy can attack cancer cells in any part of the body.
