What is hydrocortisone and acetic acid?

Hydrocortisone and acetic acid is used to treat the pain and inflammation caused by ear infections and other ear problems. Acetic acid is an antibacterial that prevents the infection from growing and spreading. Hydrocortisone is a corticosteroid that helps reduce swelling inside the ear canal. The medication is prescribed under the brand names Acetasol HC and Vosol HC.
