What if ciprofloxacin-dexamethasone is misused or swallowed?

Ciprofloxacin-dexamethasone (Ciprodex) ear drops were not meant to be swallowed or put in the eyes. If you or someone else swallows or uses ciprofloxacin-dexamethasone ear drops in the eyes, it is best to call your local poison control center at 1-800-222-1222 as soon as possible. There could be dangerous side effects, such as an allergic reaction.

Call 911 for emergency help if the person who swallowed the drug has difficulty breathing or has collapsed.
