Floxin Otic is in Pregnancy Category C, which means that risks to the developing baby cannot be ruled out. Some animal studies have shown decreased birth weights and higher infant mortality, but how these studies relate to humans isn't known. Floxin Otic has not been proven to have any harmful effects on the fetus in doses for infections of the ear. Still, this drug should be used only if the benefits to the mother are likely to outweigh the risks to the fetus.
