Medically unexplained symptoms refer to the generic health symptoms that remain undiagnosed after complete medical evaluation. According to a CDC report, some Gulf War veterans returned home reporting a host of complaints such as fatigue, pain, diarrhea, skin rashes, headaches and shortness of breath. Other unexplained symptoms included concentration difficulties and memory loss, sleep disturbances, and diarrhea. Thorough examinations could not identify a root cause or origin for the symptoms.
