Could texting cause osteoarthritis in my thumbs?

There is some concern that texting can put excess stress on the thumbs and may increase risk of osteoarthritis. Although there is no research yet on the subject, health professionals are worried that this repetitive motion of the thumbs may lead to osteoarthritis over the long term.
