What type of doctor provides clear braces?

General dentists and other subspecialists may provide clear plastic aligners, but only orthodontists provide clear ceramic brackets. Since clear aligners are used mostly to treat relatively minor problems, such as moving teeth a short distance, any dentist can be trained in using them for this purpose. If the situation is more complicated, it is likely that only an orthodontist is prepared to treat it. Orthodontists have special training to work with brackets of all kinds, including clear ceramic ones.
