What complications are associated with getting invisible (lingual) braces?

Complications of invisible braces include tooth decay and gum disease. Since the metal brackets are attached the back of your teeth, food and bacteria can get trapped and cause gum disease. Your orthodontist can recommend products to help clean your teeth. Water picks may be helpful.

Avoid hard foods and candy, which may damage your invisible braces.

If not given the proper aftercare, teeth can easily revert to their misaligned positions. Follow your dentist's instructions after you get your invisible braces removed to prevent your teeth from shifting back.
