How long does my child need to wear invisible (lingual) braces?

How long your child will have to wear lingual braces, which are less visible because they attach to the back of teeth, will depend how crooked or misaligned the teeth are and whether your child follows all instructions while wearing the braces. Wear time for most types of braces, including the lingual-type brackets, usually ranges from one to three years and is often followed by use of a retainer for at least six months.
