How should I care for my orthodontic night guard?

After wearing your night guard you should rinse off all of the saliva. No saliva should be allowed to dry on your appliance. Saliva has many odor causing bacteria and minerals that can accumulate on your appliance. In addition, the guard can be cleaned with soap or toothpaste and a toothbrush. If mineral deposits do start to appear on your appliance, you can use a denture cleanser or a mild acid (white vinegar) to clean off these deposits.
