Who should not use Lastacaft?

People who wear contact lenses should not use Lastacaft while their lenses are inserted. An ingredient in Lastacaft, known as benzalkonium chloride, can be absorbed by the lenses, distorting vision. Always remove your contact lenses before instilling Lastacaft, and wait at least 10 minutes after using the drug before you put them back in.

Women who are pregnant or breast-feeding should discuss the risks and benefits of using Lastacaft with their doctor. There are no human studies on effects the drug might have in fetuses or nursing infants.
