What is polymyxin B?

Polymyxin B, is a prescription antibiotic that treats specific bacterial infections, including meningitis and infections of the urinary tract, the eyes and the blood. Usually, a healthcare professional injects polymyxin B into a muscle, spinal fluid or a vein. If used to treat the eyes, polymyxin B is mixed into an eye drop solution.
