What should I avoid while taking carboxymethylcellulose?

Avoid using other eye medicines while you are taking artificial tear products that contain carboxymethylcellulose unless your doctor recommends it. You should also avoid touching the applicator tip with your hands, eyes, or anything else, as it could introduce germs into your eye, causing a serious infection.
