What are the side effects of gatifloxacin?

There are many side effects associated with the use of gatifloxacin. Severe side effects include an allergic reaction, and you may have blood in your stools, dizziness, drowsiness, pain or swelling in your joints or tendons, increased sweating, abdominal pain or cramps, light headedness, lost consciousness, increased hunger, frequent urination and thirst, and chest pain. Side effects that are not as severe include fatigue, a sore throat, runny nose, constipation, diarrhea, gas, indigestion, nausea, insomnia, and depression.

You may have to seek medical attention for the serious side effects if necessary.

Gatifloxacin tablets and injection were removed from the market in the United States in 2006.
