How does verteporfin injection interact with other drugs?

You can eat a normal diet following an injection of verteprofin. Certain medications can make you more sensitive to verteporfin's side effects. These include: thiazide diuretics, calcium channel blockers, tetracyclines, grisefulvin, sulfonylureas, sulfonamides and phenothiazines. Other drugs, like anticoagulants, mannitol, aspirin, formate, beta-carotene and dimethyl sulfoxide, will decrease verteporfin's effects. Always talk to your doctor about your medical history and current medications and supplements before beginning a new prescription.
