What are the side effects of Patanol?

Side effects of Patanol include blurred vision, dryness of the eye, eye irritation, headaches, congestion, sore throat and change in taste. Most people do not experience any side effects or only briefly experience these side effects. If these side effects become severe or do not go away, talk to your doctor. In rare cases, a serious allergic reaction to olopatadine, the active ingredient in Patanol, may occur. Discontinue use and seek immediate medical care if you experience the following symptoms: hives, itching, swelling of the face or throat, difficulty breathing, rash or tightness of the chest. Like all medications, Patanol may cause unexpected side effects that are not described above. If you experience an unanticipated reaction while using Patanol, talk to your doctor immediately.
