Common side effects of gentamicin-prednisolone eye drops or eye ointment include: temporarily blurred vision and temporary stinging or burning upon application. In rare cases, severe allergic reactions can occur, leading to difficulty breathing, swelling in the face or mouth, chest tightness and hives. If these symptoms develop, call 911 for emergency medical help. Gentamicin-prednisolone also may lead to new or worsened infections, especially if used over time. Tell your doctor if you notice symptoms of worsening eye infection, including pain, discharge or swelling. Because other side effects are possible, be sure to talk to your doctor if any new or unusual symptoms develop while using this medication.
