What are the side effects of gatifloxacin ophthalmic solution?

There are some side effects associated with use of gatifloxacin ophthalmic solution. Severe side effects requiring immediate care include your eyes becoming continuously red or your eye or your eyelid swelling. In rare cases you may have an allergic reaction to the drug; call your health care provider immediately if you have trouble breathing, chest tightness, or develop an itchy rash, hives, or swelling in your face, lips, tongue, or mouth. Side effects that are not as severe include

- eyes that may be irritated watery, or dry
- headaches
- bad taste in the mouth
- and blurred vision
