Before using fluorometholone ophthalmic suspension 0.25% therapy, talk to your doctor about any allergies, including to fluorometholone. Tell your doctor if you have a fungal or viral eye infection, tuberculosis, ocular herpes or any untreated eye infection. Tell your doctor if you are taking any oral steroids, like prednisone, hydrocortisone or methylprednisolone. Tell your doctor if you have thinned eye tissue (sclera, cornea), cataracts, nerve damage, glaucoma or diabetes.
This medication should not be applied while wearing contact lenses, because it will absorb into soft contacts. Contacts can be worn 15 minutes after applying the eye drops. Before each use, shake the dropper and take care not to touch the applicator to the eye or other surface to prevent contamination. Talk to your doctor before stopping treatment. Contact your doctor if your symptoms do not improve after two weeks. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant, may become pregnant or breastfeeding. Provide your doctor with a compete list of medications, including prescription, non-prescription, dietary or herbal supplements.
