How should I use flurbiprofen ophthalmic?

You should use flurbiprofen exactly as directed by your doctor. A healthcare worker will administer this medication if you are at a surgery center. If you have been asked to apply it yourself, follow these instructions:

  • Wash your hands
  • Keep the dropper's tip from touching any surface
  • Tilt your head back and pull down your lower eyelid, creating an envelope for the drops
  • Look up and away from the dropper as you squeeze out a drop
  • Press your finger on the corner of your eye near your nose for about a minute
