How should I take zinc sulfate?

Follow the directions of your doctor regarding your dosage of zinc sulfate. Zinc sulfate is usually taken on an empty stomach -- either one hour before a meal or two to three hours after eating. However, if zinc sulfate upsets your stomach, you should take it with a full glass of water or with food. Take this medication at roughly the same times every day to make sure that you keep balanced levels in your body.
