How should I use ketotifen?

If ketotifen was prescribed by a doctor, you should use it exactly as prescribed. If you purchased this solution over-the-counter, check the dosing instructions for information on how to use ketotifen.
To prevent contamination, wash your hands before using ketotifen. Do not touch the tip of the dropper. If you wear contact lenses, remove them. Tilt back your head. Then, use your index finger to gently pull your lower eyelid away from your eye. Drop the solution into the lower eyelid, and then close your eyes. Try not to blink, and gently apply pressure to the inner corner of your eyelid for a minute or two.

Do not ingest or inhale ketotifen. It is intended only for use in your eyes. You should not use this solution to treat additional eye problems, unless otherwise instructed by a doctor. If your eyes are red following usage, do not use contact lenses right away. If they are not red, you should still wait at least 10 minutes before reinserting contact lenses.
