How does Patanase treat seasonal hay fever?

The active ingredient in Patanase, olopatadine, is an antihistamine. When your body is exposed to an allergen, your body responds by releasing histamines. Histamines attach to cells in your body, causing them to swell and release fluid. This response causes you to sneeze, your nose to run and your eyes to itch. Antihistamines like olopatadine prevent histamines from attaching to cells, relieving these symptoms. When used regularly, Pataday can prevent sneezing, runny noses and itchy eyes caused by seasonal hay fever.
