How will I feel when I have fluorescein testing?

This eye test, fluorescein angiography, is very effective and accurate. But you may feel a little discomfort. A sterile dye, fluorescein, is injected into the veins of your arm. Some people report moderate pain from the injection. Others feel just a slight stinging or pricking. There may also be throbbing at the injection site. It’s not uncommon to feel mildly nauseous as the dye travels through your blood. You may also feel a little warm. Usually, this only lasts for a little while. Your urine may briefly become darker, and possibly yellow or orange. This should only last for a day or two.
